ELIAS BATES was born August 30, 1794 in Vermont, and died July 17, 1883 in Holden, Johnson County, Missouri. He married (1) SARAH BATES 1819 in Middlesex, Massachusetts, daughter of JOHN BATES and ABIGAIL DAVISON. She was born December 13, 1799 in New York, and died Bef. 1826. He married (2) ALICE VICKERY January 29, 1826 in New Haven, Oswego County, New York.  She was born Abt. 1801 in New York, and died Aft. 1880 in Holden, Johnson County, Missouri.

LAURA P. BATES, b. May 31, 1823, New York; d. January 24, 1890, Springvale, Fond du Lac County,Wisconsin.
